As our Delivery Manager, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 25 hours per week and we will also try our best to consider those intending to work a job share. Are you a project or delivery manager with a knack for building strong relationships and an interest in designing the enterprise? If so, then the Delivery Manager position within the Enterprise Design (ED) team is calling your name!
Your key duties:
With an initial focus on the Enterprise Architecture team (eventually the role will support the wider Enterprise Design teams), you’ll be responsible for:
* Facilitating Design Excellence: You’ll oversee the design life cycle, ensuring project and change initiatives adhere to the design assurance processes and proactively identify and resolve issues and blockers.
* Building Strong Governance: Upholding rigorous standards and procedures, you’ll be the champion of effective governance within the ED team and ensure changes with our tools and data are managed.
* Maintaining Momentum: You’ll facilitate the delivery flow of the teams, managing the demand for resource.
* Managing Risk: You’ll actively address identified risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team
* Mastering Stakeholder Management: From architects to executives, you’ll bridge communication gaps and cultivate strong relationships across the organisation.
* Driving Performance: Developing KPIs and insightful reports, you’ll ensure that the processes and teams are providing the right information to our stakeholders

As our Delivery Manager, your total reward package will be up to £63,719 annually, which includes:
* £41,725 base pay
* An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 28.97%
* Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) you will be paid £5,300 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills. Whilst in post, you will be paid this market driven allowance from April 2024 until September 2025 in your monthly pay
* Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave
Essential Criteria, skills and experience:
1. Proven Project/Delivery Management Experience: Describe specific instances where you successfully managed projects or deliveries, outlining your role, the project’s scope, key deliverables, timelines, and budget. Quantify your achievements whenever possible. Highlight experience within large organisations, emphasising your ability to navigate complex organisational structures and processes. Mention any relevant methodologies used (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
2. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Provide examples of situations where you had to analyse complex information, identify root causes of problems, and develop effective solutions. Explain your analytical process, the tools, or techniques you used, and the positive outcomes you achieved.
3. Excellent Stakeholder Management and Collaboration Skills: Share examples of how you have effectively managed relationships with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, business users, and senior management. Describe how you built rapport, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and influence others to achieve common goals.
4. Understanding of Governance and Process Management: Demonstrate your understanding of the importance of clear governance frameworks and process management. Describe instances where you implemented or adhered to governance procedures, ensured compliance with standards, or improved existing processes. Explain your understanding of change management principles and how you ensured smooth transitions during organisational changes.
5. Experience in Demand Management and Resource Allocation: Provide examples of how you have managed resource demand within projects or teams. Describe your experience in forecasting resource needs, prioritising requests, allocating resources effectively, and managing resource conflicts. Explain how you balanced competing demands and ensured efficient resource utilisation to meet project objectives
